Snow falling from the roof caused damage or an injury
1. Collect information
Gather the names and contact information of the person who suffered the damage and any potential witnesses. Collect information about how, why, when, and where the falling snow caused the damage and what kind of damage it is. You will need this information as an attachment to your claim report.
If it is a vehicle, also take note of the vehicle registration number.
2. Report the injury
Notify Pohjola Insurance of the loss without delay. Fill in the liability loss report in op.fi service. If you cannot access the op.fo service, you can also file a loss report in the Claims Service using your online bank identifiers.
Once we have received your claim, we will contact you and request any necessary additional information. Please note that the person who suffered the damage cannot make the claim on your behalf. If necessary, we will also contact them to obtain additional information.
If you are a property owner and presented with a claim for damage caused by falling snow, you will find instructions on this page I caused the loss as the lessor.
We will make a compensation decision when the cause of the damage is clear and we have all the necessary information required to resolve the case. We recommend that you do not compensate the claimant for the damage before our company has made a compensation decision for the damage.
3. If a vehicle was damaged

4. What does the insurance cover?
Real estate insurance policies and extended real estate insurance policies include the property owner’s general liability insurance. It covers to an extent specified in detail in the insurance terms and conditions damage for which the property owner is liable, in accordance with the established legislation.
Pohjola Insurance will first find out who is liable for the loss resulting from falling snow. If you are deemed to be liable for the accident and it is covered by the insurance, the insurance policy will cover the damages for which you are liable in the case. The amount of compensation is calculated according to compensation regulations and legal practice.
